There's a clear shift happening in home fragrance in 2026.
People aren't just buying candles for seasons anymore, they're buying them for atmosphere. For comfort. For how they want their home to feel.

Here's what we're seeing across the market so far this year.

🕯️ Your top category: Bakery Candles

If 2026 had a defining scent direction so far, this would be it.
Warm, nostalgic, edible-inspired fragrances continue to lead the way, the kind of scents that feel like memory, comfort, and home all at once.

Key notes people are reaching for:

  • Buttery
  • Coffee
  • Banana

📊 Your standout performer: Buttery Croissant
It's become one of our most repurchased scents this year, with a steady stream of new homes discovering it for the first time too. You can learn more about this gorgeous scent here

🌿 What led you here

One of the most interesting shifts this year hasn't just been what people buy, it's how they find us.

Search behaviour is becoming more intentional, more ingredient-aware, and more emotionally driven. More people are searching for hormone-safe candles, alongside a growing interest in scents for stress relief and rain-inspired fragrance.

This reflects a wider movement towards transparency, wellbeing, and ingredient awareness in home fragrance.

🕯️ Wax melts: a quiet breakout category

One of the clearest changes in 2026 has been the growth of our wax melt range, which has rapidly become a customer favourite across the board.

Now available in all scents, wax melts are being chosen for everyday scent layering and longer-lasting home fragrance. Buttery Croissant and Sorrento Sun have been particular favourites.

📈 The scent with the biggest growth: Inhale Power

This year, as conversations around ingredient awareness and hormone-safe home fragrance have grown, Inhale Power has seen its strongest moment yet.
Although this candle has been part of the collection for years, its purpose has only recently been fully recognised and shared within our community.

Key feedback from customers:

  • "No nasties"
  • "I love the ethics behind this company and the natural ingredients."

It has become less of a product, and more of a conversation.

🧡 Your 2026 scent identity (so far)

If Jordan (Wildrace Founder) had to summarise the first half of the year in one sentence:

It has been a year of people discovering, and rediscovering, the importance of ingredients, and joining a growing community of people choosing intentional, non-harmful home fragrance.

The second half of the year is already beginning to shift.
